about the designer
One day after moving into a new apartment, I was unpacking my jewelry and the makeshift storage pieces I'd created over the years (a scarf here, some ribbons there). I realized that I needed something better, more solid, more professional looking, but just couldn't find anything cute.
Why not? Why was this such a tough thing to find? It was like goldilocks in search of the perfect porridge. This contraption is too small, this one is too bulky, this one looks cheesy and cheap, this one tangles up your earrings when you travel.... you get the picture. Granted, I had a lot of jewelry. A LOT. oodles. But, I couldn't be the only one in this situation.. Since I knew what I wanted and couldn't find it, the next logical step was to create it myself.
I decided to create something practical and playful; something that compliments the decor instead of detracting from it. After a lot of trial and error, feedback from my fabulous lady friends and research to find the most unique fabric and trimmings I could, I arrived arrived at the current set of KikiBella products.
My pieces are made with tons of love specifically for the beautiful ladies and girls out there who like a little sanity and organization in their lives, but at the same time love to fill their lives with playful things.
Special kudos to two very special ladies in my life who inspired and encouraged me. My beautiful and aptly named mom Linda (spanish for pretty) and friend Jamila (arabic for beatiful). It's no coincidence that both of their names mean pretty and/or beautiful in other languages; they embody the words both physically and spiritually. Thank so much for everything.
